Check your flight delay compensation
Tell us where you flew, which flight it was and when. Clairo looks the flight up in real flight data, works out the arrival delay and the great-circle distance of your route, and gives you an estimate under EU Regulation 261/2004. It is free, and nothing is submitted to the airline on your behalf.

When a delayed flight qualifies
Three things have to line up before EU261 compensation is due. The checker above assesses the first two from your flight details; the third depends on why the flight was disrupted.
- The route has to be covered
- EU261 applies to any flight departing an EU/EEA/UK airport, whichever airline operated it, and to flights arriving at an EU/EEA/UK airport when the operating carrier is based in the EU, EEA or UK.
- You have to arrive at least 3 hours late
- The delay is measured at your final destination, not at the gate you left from. On a booking with connections, that is the last airport on the ticket — a short departure delay can still qualify if it made you miss a connection.
- The cause has to be within the airline's control
- Compensation is not due where the airline shows the disruption was caused by extraordinary circumstances it could not have avoided even by taking all reasonable measures. Whether that applies turns on the facts and on the evidence the airline can produce.
How much the bands are worth
- Under 1,500 km — €250
- 1,500–3,500 km — €400
- Over 3,500 km — €600
Clairo caps its estimate at €400 when both ends of the route are EU/EEA/UK airports, mirroring the intra-Community cap in Article 7(1)(b); it only estimates €600 where one end lies outside that area. Long UK–EU routes sit at the edge of that cap, so treat the figure as an estimate and check the position for your route.
On a route over 3,500 km where you arrive between 3 and 4 hours late, the airline is allowed to halve the amount.
UK261 sets its own figures in sterling, so UK sterling amounts are set separately from the euro bands and the two regimes are not interchangeable. Clairo's checker currently shows euro estimates only — check current UK CAA guidance for the sterling figures that apply.
What the checker does not do
